WORLD PINZGAUER CONGRESS
2003 International Pinzgauer Cattle Breeders Association (IPCBA) Conference
Beef & Beyond ...

From July 11 - 20, 2003, Canadian Pinzgauer breeders will host the IPCBA World Congress. This has not happened since 1978, the first time the Austrian-based organization moved their every-four-years conference. Participants are expected from many countries throughout the Pinzgauer globe, and activities will centre around the Calgary Stampede, allowing conference participants to experience "The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth"!

2003 marks the 30th Anniversary of the Canadian Pinzgauer Association and the 31st year of Pinzgauer cattle in Canada. Steady growth and continued development of the "beef" Pinzgauer ensures a bright future for the breed in North America.

We are pleased to advise that ITS Travel & Cruises is the official travel coordinator for the Congress. Our contact person is Sharleen, and if you would appreciate any assistance of flights, please feel free to contact her by phone at 1-800-661-4326 or by sharleen@itstvl.com.

Please check this page often as we will be updating it with World Congress activities, accommodations, and so on. Start planning to attend this international conference today!

2003 Calgary Stampede Pinzgauer Congress Show

The Open, Junior and Steer Show information is all there as well. Show entries may be made online, so please feel free to forward this information to anyone you feel may be interested in exhibiting livestock at the event.

Please be advised of the following special rules for the Pinzgauer Show:

Rule modifications to those listed in Definition of an Exhibit with respect to the Pinzgauer show only:
5) The exhibit must be owned by and registered in the country of origin in the name of the exhibitor.
6) The Exhibitor must produce the original Registration Certificate issued in the exhibitors name from the country of the exhibit’s origin to the Agriculture Manager or a representative of the Stampede when requested to verify the identification of the entry.

We have placed this rule so that Americans bringing American cattle to the Congress only have to have registration certificates from the American Pinzgauer Association. Unlike the American National Show, where Canadians are required to hold American certificates on our entries, the only exhibitors at the Congress show that have to have Canadian papers are the Canadians ... we are most happy to accept American papers on all your American's entries!

Please E-Mail President Rob Smith if you have any questions, or if there is anything the Congress committee can do for you.
